Whats For Dinner Tonight Chili Hot Dogs

Threat of snow storm tonight makes me want to huddle down inside. We had some frozen chili so thawed out. Boiled 4 hot dogs, microwave 4 spoons of the chili. On top of the dogs, spooned the chili and spread 4 pieces of  velvetta cheese. Continued under broiler for a few minutes.
Add some chips and dip and a little baked beans and dinner is done.

Clutter Tip For The Day

Designate a shelf or book case to store your DVDs and limit your entire collection. Should you buy a new one find your least favorite and donate it.
You can bring to thrift store, library or maybe a senior center.
My VCR finally broke and rather than buy a new one I am selling or donating my VHSs. When at garage sales should I see a stack of DVDs I will check to see if there are any of my favorite movies to buy.

Clutter Tip Of The Day ~ Weed Out Old Personal Hygiene Items

I know it is hard to throw away some items, nail poilsh or blush. The are not empty yet but maybe they are getting to old.
How about once a year for some and every few months see what you have in your bath room. Plan the first of the month to cull out old items.
Body wash is good for 3 years, facial cleanser 6 months, moisterizers 1 year, sun screen 1 year, mouthwash 3 years, nail poilsh 2 years, shampoo and conditioner 2 to 3 years, blush 6 months, eye makeup 3 months, lipstick, 1 year, mascara 3 months, hair spray and gel 2 to 3 years.
Looking at this list I see I need some new make up.

CLUTTER TIP OF THE DAY ~ CLIP AND SAVE FAVORITE ARTICLES

Rather than keep a pile of magazines save only the articles, recipes or ideas you are interested in. Keep them in an accorion file or a stack of loose file folders labeled travel, recipes, decorating ideas or what ever.
Toss out the old magazines or donate to a senior center, dentist office or you may come across an orgaizing saving shiny paper for a project.
Right now my grand daughter and my church are saving shiny paper to recycle for class trips.

I keep my recipes in a file folder next to my cook books, when I want to try a new recipe I have this folder to search through.

Life Goes On One Photo At A Time 12/5/12 From My Picture Window

Here is a picture of my beautiful city, Lake Superior and bridge from my front window. Last year I was doing a blog where I attempted to take a picture one day at a time. Life got busy and I did not keep up with the blog.

This morning as I took this picture of my beautiful city my thoughts went to that blog. I went and visited some of the pictures I took and memories came back of part of that year. The idea was take part in Project 365, a picture a day. There are pictures of my city, my lake, my grandchildren, food we cooked and food we ate out.

We had just moved back to Duluth, my home town, relocating from the Houston, Texas area. We rented the tiniest of apartments, steps from the beach but so small we had to move a year later.
So here we are in an apartment near the hospitals and views of the lake that are breath taking.

We are in a much larger apartment and have a view of Lake Superior from all windows. Project 365 is a great idea to see your life one picture a day.

Enjoy this wonderful picture of Duluth and Lake Superior. Grace

TIP OF THE DAY ~ USE THE LAUNDROMAT TO CATCH UP

If you are over loaded with dirty laundry you can catch up by gathering every thing up and going to your local laundromat. You can do 5 or 10 loads at a time.

CLUTTER TIP OF THE DAY The Bathroom and Your Makeup

Idea for storing your make up. Transform an ordinary tooth brush holder into a make up caddy. Grab all your make up brushes and eye pencils and store them in tooth brush holder or even a pretty drinking glass or coffee mug you are not using. Any room left add your masacara to the group.

CLUTTER TIP OF THE DAY ~ The Junk Drawer

Here is another clutter tip for your junk drawer. Instead of buying costly storage containers use your throw aways. Clean out your small jars, save boxes from your checks. You get the idea. Use these items to store away paper clips, rubber bands, batteries, twistie ties or what ever.
