Estate Sales ... Searching For Treasures DISNEY FABRIC FOUND

If you have read this blog or my other blog you already know hubby and I suppliment our income by searching for items to resell.
While we mainly look for books we also will look around an estate sale or thrift store just in case some thing catches our interest.

Recently I had read about roly poly glasses by Dorothy Thorpe being featured on Mad Men and that they were desireable on eBay. I had never heard about them but that fact stuck in my head and sure enough I found 2 that look like them at a thrift store.
Now I only have two and 6 or 8 would be more desireable BUT these would be a good addition to a collection or the start of a collection.  I have been trying to find out how you can tell a true Thorpe and a knock off from that time period apart.
Everyone has there own ideas so I have just listed them with Mad Men in the title and the fact that I do not know whether they are the orginial Dorthy Thorpes or not.

Another little tip I read about was vintage Disney fabric. I happened to mention this to my hubby and even if I think he does not really listen he does I guess. We went to a estate sale and in one bedroom he spotted this vintage Disney fabric and brought it to me. What a guy. I have it up for sale right now and it already has bids .. YEA.
And I finally got my vintage Barbies (good for parts or restored up for sale) I am hoping that they sell first time out.

Bottom line of this post is have fun searching, keep your eyes open and lets all share our little tips with each other of what is hot to sell.
Want to watch these items just go to my eBay link.

EXTREME COUPONING Do You Strive To Be An Extreme Couponer?

Extreme Couponing is a new popular show on TV. Do you strive to be a extreme couponer?  I personally do not have room in my small apartment for all the products that extreme couponers buy.
I do strive to save the best I can with my money and coupons.
Today I found an article on Extreme Couponing, you can read it here.
Extreme Couponing is on TV tonight at 8pm central. I missed it last week but do hope to be able to watch it tonight.
What I do attempt to do is look for the best deals at the stores in my area. I shop more than one store to get their best deals.

Some hints from the article are...
1. Stack up .. The supersavers stack coupons by combining sale prices with manufacturer coupons, store coupons and store credit in the form of Register Rewards (Walgreens), ExtraBucks (CVS) or UpRewards (Rite Aid).
2. Stockpile your products the best you can
3. Start Small.... Start with a reasonable goal  maybe just to save $20 a week

Do you plan to watch Extreme Couponing tonight? I know it is on my schedule tonight.

Thanks for stopping by.. lets keep saving together .. and please always remember..

SAVED QUARTER CHALLENGE Week # 14 Making Money On eBay

Time for another week to report Saved Quarter Challenge. Was I able to save any money from my grocery budget to go into savings NO again. Every thing is creeping up and we have been spending time at McDonald's where I can get FREE internet connection. So those cups of coke come out of my food budget.
I am on a limited Internet plan and always come close to my limit. I spend alot of time on the Internet blogging, family tree research and working to sell on the Internet. Hubby and need to stop into Verizon and see how much to move my time limit up.

But I do like being at McDonald's.The table is huge and I can spread out my family research note books. My desk at home is half the size and room does not allow for me to get a bigger table in this small apartment.

We did have a good week selling on eBay but there were no sales at Amazon.
Hubby and I spend several days a week hunting for items to resell, mainly books. We are retired and this is how we suppliment our income.
Hubby found a desirable Bible at a community sale that he bought in a bag for $2.00. Last night he sold it for $43.00. I had some cook books up for sale and last night made about $25.00 off the cookbooks. In total we had sales of $93.00 before any costs.
Any money we clear will go into the budget to help with April.

I plan to be in a craft fair in May and need to spend $38.00 of the $93.00 for my table space.

I hope that your week goes good and that we can have a great week finding and selling on the Internet. I will be linking this up at Saved Quarter Challenge. Visit there to see how others are doing saving money.

TIP FOR THE DAY ~ SAY GOOD BYE TO PRODUCTS YOU NEVER USE

Tip for the day.. say good bye to products you never use. We are always finding great deals and the store and stock up on shampoo, body lotions and even toothpaste and tooth brushes. Soon we know we are over stocked or will never use some of these items. Instead of hanging on to items we may not use why not bring to a woman's shelter, to a homeless shelter or even send off to the troops over seas.

These items can give a much needed lift to some one else and we can gain space to find some more great deals and our drug stores, grocery stores and big name stores.

I know look at the weekly ads and look for items that I can get FREE or for pennies and drop off at a church for a mailing to the service men and women or for them to pass on to the needy within my own community.
