TIP FOR THE DAY ~ PAY CASH ~ STAY WITHIN YOUR BUDGET
Tip for the day.. pay cash when you go shopping or out to eat. You are more likely to over spend when you use a check or debit card, or credit card.
It is so much easier to over spend when you are not pulling cold cash out of your wallet.

PIGGY BANK ~ GREAT SAVINGS PLAN ~ PENNY TO PENNY
We have two colorful little tins sitting on top of our refridgator that we throw our pennies in. They have been part of our kitchen decor for over 20 years. No matter where we move they end up on top of the refridgator.
It takes awhile to fill them up, but when full we have a nice chunk of money to throw into savings, buy needed groceries or just go out for a nice meal.
No matter what we do not miss those pennies and it is fun to pick up that heavy little bank every once in awhile.
When it comes time to cash in we sit and roll them if our bank does not have a coin counter. There was a time that banks had coin counters but that service is disappering. And we will not bring them to one of those coin counters. They take a percentage of my money for the service and I do not really need a gift card to any of the places offered.
Where do you throw your change, a tin can, glass gar or even an old wine bottle? Do you even save your change. We basically save pennies only, I do have a small glass for the other change but that money usually gets spent as needed.

SAVED QUARTER CHALLENGE # 13 4/4/11 Selling on eBay
Thirteen weeks into the Saving challenge and even though I have not been able to cut back on my grocery budget we have been busy working to sell on eBay and Amazon. We spend several days these last few weeks out hunting for treasures and have found some success.
This last week we sold $79.00 before costs between eBay and Amazon.
Just a matter of putting in the time and a little luck finding the right items at the right price.
I will be linking this up at Saved Quarter Challenge.
Hope that you are doing well with your savings or earning program.

Menu Plan Monday 4/4/11
Hard to believe another week has crept by. The weather here in northern Minnesota is up and down. It can be 45, sunny and just so beautiful as it was on Saturday as we were out hunting for treasures at estate sales and community sales. Was a great day full of treasures to be found.
Next day snowy, windy and roads that have not been plowed enough to head into the woods to go to church. We went so far, turned around and headed to McDonald's for coffee and to read the newspaper.
Today once again a nice day, cool, cloudy but no snow so off on errands and visiting used bookstores.
I want this weeks meal plan to be easy since I want to be out two nights. Tuesday night is a genealogist meeting and I want to check out what they have to offer and then on Wednesday night going to a lecture by William Powers. He lived for awhile in a 12 by 12 cabin off the grid. Living with less. Should be interesting. I just bought his book twelve by twelve a one room cabin off the grid and beyond the American dream. Hope to have part of it read before Wednesday night and to have the author sign it for me.
Now for my weekly menu
Hot dogs Macaroni and Cheese and baked beans
Dinner at McDonalds before the genealogy class
Grilled cheese and tomato soup with chips
Spaghetti with meat ball in tomato sauce
Meat balls in gravy with mash potatoes and green beans
left overs
to be decided
I will be letting you know more about my class and lecture and how it went.
