eBay Weekend Follow Up 3/26/12

The weekend on eBay was pretty quite. We sold a couple of books and some vintage snap shot photos.

Sold a nice set of vintage Cinar jewelry but buyer is from Italy.  She has great feedback but I will not ship jewelry over seas unless it is priority mail. This is written in my listing. Hopefully she will pay so I can mail out.
Looking at them at first I thought they were nothing special and almost brought out to local auction. Thank goodness I looked at back of earrings, saw the name Cinar and checked them out on eBay. They sold first time out for $24.95.

Now just waiting for payment.

I have been doing good on vintage snap shots lately.  It is hard to believe what people want and will buy. Snapshots of funerals is popular.  I bought a vintage album at a local auction and there were a few photos there of the gentleman in his coffin and at the cemetery.  I have stretched these photos out to four auctions and have made about $20.00 to $30.00 on this $3.00 purchase. Pictures of cute children usually sell also.

How are your eBay or etsy sales going. Etsy was quite this weekend but I have very little for sale there.  Hope that you have a great week with sales where ever you sell.

eBay Sales Update Lady Shoes and Vintage Snapshot Photos

Last night I sold the cute red pair of shoes pictured in last posting for $13.50
Since it is FREE listing on eBay for store sellers I will give unsold shoes another try.

I have recently signed up for etsy to sell items also. I am starting out with vintage photos on both ebay and etsy. So far eBay is winning out with sales. Last night I sold three photos on eBay before they could sell on etsy. Each of them selling for $5.00.

RECENT LOCAL AUCTION SALE FINDS ~ Shoes Shoes and More Shoes To Sell On eBay

Just a week or so ago at one of the local auctions I found some women's shoes new or almost new in the box.  I have put them up for auction twice now and no sales. Right now I can list for free on eBay because we have a store. Once the free listings are over if not sold I will stick in my store.

Cute shoes just need the right buyers for them.

So that is a few things I have bough at our local auction house. Hope that your finds are profitable

We will be getting two coupon inserts in the Sunday paper this week. You can go here to see what will be available.  There will be a Smart Source and a Red Plum this week.

Please remember coupons can vary depending on where you live in the United States.

Wordless Wednesday ~ Cake Makes Everything Better

Wordless Wednesday ( almost ) Cake make everything better.  No matter how the day is going a piece of cake with the girls can only make the day go better.  The year is 1951 when this party took place.  And I am sure the cake was homemade as was the frosting.

Happy Wordless Wednesday

Tidy Tip Tuesday ~ Do Away With Bathroom Trash Thrifty and Easy

For Tidy Tip Tuesday we are making the bathroom trash easier to get rid of.  Find a pretty small trash can for every bathroom you have.  Line these with a plastic trash bag from your grocery shopping trip and when it is almost full just remove and take out to the garbage.

I like to place a few empty garbage bags at the bottom of my trash can so I am ready to go after taking out the trash.

Thanks for stopping by for Tidy Tip Tuesday Grace

Monday Menu Plans ~ I Never Get Tired Of Our Chicken Soup

Boy time is just flying by. Spring is in the air and we are finally starting to get a bit warmer. Today was fifty degrees with the snow banks starting to melt into dirty gravel piles.

This picture is just a week ago last Saturday. Snow and more yukky snow.

Times are busy with going to auctions and church doings. We are cooking our chicken soup tonight and that will take care of us for a few meals.

Wednesday we will go to church for a soup dinner and we will make a pot of pea soup to bring and share with others.

Lots of soup this week I guess. Fast easy and economical meals.  And with the smell of baking chicken tonight I am getting a craving for our chicken and rice dinner. May have to make that Friday or Saturday night.

Thanks for stopping by.. lets keep saving together and lets keep saving together. Grace

We have had two Coney Islands in Duluth, Minnesota for years. There is always the argument to who has the best Coney’s. There is the original one on Superior Street and then there is the one on First Street. Recently they have put a small Coney Island at the mall in the food court. I have chosen to not eat there as of yet.

I have always chosen to go to the Coney Island on Superior Street. It is small with cozy booths and interesting old signs hanging on the wall. There is a great counter to eat at if you choose to do that. Parking is basically the same. Streets parking with meters that have to be feed with quarters.

Saturday we were at the antique store adding treasures for sale and right across the street is the Superior Street Coney Island. That is one of the reasons we have chosen that one lately. It is all about convince.

Here is a picture of my two Coney’s’ along with a small bag of Frito chips, not pictured is a glass of soda.  Hubby is not big on Coney’s and they do serve a good breakfast so he always chooses that for his lunch. This picture is after he has messed up his eggs and hash browns and fixed his pancakes to how he wants them.  He also had a soda to drink.  Our bill came to $12.37 with out tip.

The Coney’s are warm and piled high with Coney sauce, onions and mustard. A perfect comfy lunch full of memories of when I was a teenager and stopping in for my Coney dog. Hubbys lunch may look like a mess but he is happy and that is all I care about.

We will have to stop into the one on First Street to compare their dogs real soon.

Thanks for stopping by for What’s For Lunch Today. Grace

Are you like me, a lover of books.  I am forever picking up books as I visit used book stores, library sales or garage sales.  Pretty soon I have at least 30 to 40 books just waiting to be read.  On top of that some one is always giving me a book to borrow.  They think I will love it and now I want to read that one so I can return before I forget to give it back.
Only keep the book you want to read on or near your night stand.  If you gather more books than you can possibly read how about donating some to your thrift store or library sale.

Thanks for stopping by for tip for the day.

Your night stand should only be used for items you need in bed.  Your books, your reading glasses, cell phone and memo pad.
Now of course this should not all be on top of your night stand. A drawer makes things neater or if your night stand does not have a drawer you can always use a pretty wicker basket underneath.

It is snowing and cold out.  What would be better than some home made soup.
We took some chicken out of the freezer the night before to thaw.
Next day we baked, cooled and deboned.
Next boiled up the bones for some broth.
To that more canned broth is added along with the diced up chicken.
Add 1 tsp of pepper, 1/2 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of garlic
Add to all of this 1 can of diced tomatoes with spices
a handful or two of frozen mixed vegetables
and pasta already cooked and drained.

Simmer for about 30 to 45 minutes and homemade soup is made.
Forget the canned chicken noodle soup and taste what soup really taste likes.
Thanks for stopping by for dinner.. Grace

Your under bed storage does not have to be for bedroom items only. You can organize anything that needs a place under your bed.  How about office supplies, sports items.  We store a folding table under our bed.  Out of sight is great and if we need it for a family doings just pull it out and we are ready to go.
45 years ago we went to a Sunday lunch at the apartment of a lady from church. She pulled out a tray of cut up carrots and celery from under her bed.  You should of seen the look on my mother's face.  I do not suggest keeping vegies under your bed for your next party.  After all these years I still have to chuckle and share that story.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks to Mrs.S for the memories and the chuckles after all these years.
